Richard C. Minor

Richard Campbell Minor was born on August 21, 1921, in Powell, Ohio, and graduated from Ohio State University before serving with the 75th Infantry Division in Europe during World War II. He participated in major engagements including the Colmar Pocket, the Battle of the Bulge, and the Battle of Germany, and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star. He maintained active reserve status with the 332nd Infantry Regiment and retired in 1960 with the rank of captain.

After the war, Minor returned to Ohio and earned both his LL.B. and J.D. degrees from Capital University. Admitted to the Ohio State Bar Association in 1952, he served as an Assistant Attorney General and as Assistant Director of Public Welfare in Ohio. In 1959 he came to Reno and was admitted to the Nevada State Bar that same year, beginning a legal career in his adopted state.

Minor was appointed Justice of the Peace in 1972 and continued in that office until 1983, when he was elected to the Second Judicial District Court, Department 8, serving to 1984. Beyond the bench, he held leadership roles in the Nevada Judges Association, taught at the Nevada Judicial College, and chaired the Washoe County Republican Party, while remaining active in veterans organizations.
