Richard L. Elmore - 1950-06-25 to 2019-12-04

Richard L. (Rick) Elmore was a third generation Nevadan, born June 25, 1950 in Reno. He graduated from Reno High School in 1968 and from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1973 with a degree in civil engineering, serving as ASUN President in his senior year. He went on to McGeorge School of Law, graduating in 1977, and returned to Reno to begin his legal career.

Rick practiced successfully as a trial attorney in the Reno legal community for more than four decades. He was a past partner in the Hale Lane Peek Denison & Howard and Holland & Hart law firms, and in his later years built a successful sole practice specializing in commercial litigation. He was appointed by the Nevada Supreme Court as a past chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nevada Law Foundation, served as a past co-editor of the Nevada Civil Practice Manual, and was a member of numerous trial lawyers' associations.

Rick took great pride in being honored as a trial lawyer in the annual Best Lawyers of America publication for over 14 consecutive years, a distinction reserved for attorneys selected by their legal peers. Recognized for professional excellence, he held a Martindale-Hubbell AV rating - the highest awarded to practicing attorneys - and was invited to join the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a national association of highly respected and experienced trial lawyers and judges. He passed away on December 4, 2019.
