Robert Creedon Maddox - 1944-06-30 to 2024-10-11
Robert Creedon Maddox, known to many as Bob, was born June 30, 1944, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was educated at Brown University and Harvard Law School, and went on to practice law for 54 years across the western United States. He began his legal career in San Francisco before establishing his own practice, opening offices in Lake Tahoe, Reno, and Las Vegas.
Over the course of his Nevada career, Maddox earned a reputation as a leading trial attorney and is widely remembered as a father of construction defect law in the state. He was pivotal in the creation of Nevada's first construction defect statute, shaping an area of law that would define much of his practice. His work was recognized with the Nevada Justice Association's Trial Lawyer of the Year award, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Robert C. Maddox died October 11, 2024. He is remembered for his lasting contributions to Nevada's legal community and for his enduring impact on construction defect litigation in the state.
