Robert E. Hager

Robert Edward "Bobby" Hager was born in Reno on March 10, 1983. He graduated with honors from the University of Nevada, Reno, and earned his law degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV. Admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in December 2011, he entered the private practice of law in Reno and, in the week before his death, became a partner in the firm of Hager & Hearne alongside his father.

Though his career was brief, Bobby practiced at an extraordinary level. In his first year he attended approximately one hundred foreclosure mediations and appeared in court on dozens of occasions, and many citizens of northern Nevada remained in their homes because of his efforts. He assisted in the preparation of a number of Nevada Supreme Court appeals and spoke before the Court regarding proposed amendments to the Foreclosure Mediation Rules.

A consistent theme ran through his work - litigation on behalf of the oppressed. Colleagues came to depend on his analytical abilities and his sense of humor, and he earned the respect of judges and fellow attorneys, including those he opposed. He passed away unexpectedly in Reno on September 18, 2012, at the age of 29.
