Robert Knickerbocker Dorsey

Robert Knickerbocker Dorsey was born on January 20, 1931, in New York, New York. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and served his country as a veteran of the Korean War before pursuing his legal education at the University of Virginia School of Law. Over the course of his career he was admitted to practice in multiple jurisdictions, including California, New York, and Nevada, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, the U.S. Tax Court, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Robert came to Nevada in 1962 and settled in Las Vegas in 1963, where he would spend the remainder of his long legal career. He briefly served in the Clark County District Attorney's Office before entering private practice, which he maintained until his retirement. Licensed for 67 years, his practice encompassed a broad range of matters, including corporate law, construction law, real estate, probate, family law, and personal injury.

Robert Knickerbocker Dorsey passed away on October 29, 2025, in Las Vegas at the age of 94. His decades of dedicated service to clients and to the Nevada legal community reflected a lifetime of commitment to the practice of law.
