Robert "Bob" Neils Peccole - 1937-09-26 to 2024-01-21
Robert "Bob" Neils Peccole was a Las Vegas attorney whose legal career spanned six decades. Admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in November 1963, he practiced law continuously in Clark County until his death, becoming one of Southern Nevada's most enduring members of the bar.
His public service was extensive. In 1966 he became the first Chief Public Defender in Clark County, and in 1979 he served as Chief Deputy Attorney General for Southern Nevada. In 1985 he was appointed to the Nevada State Gaming Commission, and over his career he provided legal counsel to the Nevada Athletic Commission, the Nevada Racing Commission, and the State Board of Architecture. He also served as General Counsel for the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino.
In 1993 Bob argued a case before the United States Supreme Court, where he obtained a unanimous decision in favor of his client, Catherina Costa. The following year, in 1994, he co-founded the law practice of Peccole & Peccole Ltd. together with his son, continuing a family legal tradition in Las Vegas.
