Robyn Tracey Mellender

Robyn Tracey Mellender was an attorney whose career reflected a deep love for the law. Born in Encino, California, she graduated from McQueen High School in Reno in 1986, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2001, and received her law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 2004. She was admitted to practice in both California and Nevada.

Robyn began her legal career at the firm of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky, and Walker before returning home to Reno in 2007. There she joined the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada as an administrative attorney, and was later promoted to assistant staff counsel - a role she truly treasured and enjoyed. Colleagues remembered her as a dedicated mentor who took the time to train those who worked alongside her.

Robyn passed away on June 5, 2010, at the age of 42, after a courageous and tenacious battle with cancer. She is remembered for her wit, her devotion to her profession, and the warmth she brought to those around her.
