Roger Lane Wright

Roger Lane Wright, J.D., of Reno, Nevada, entered eternal life on February 20, 2016. Born in Blackfoot, Idaho, on August 5, 1936, to Hesden and Lois Wright, he moved with his family to Nevada in 1937 and graduated from Reno High School. He served a Swiss-Austrian mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, completing it in 1959, and then continued his education at Brigham Young University, graduating in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts and a minor in German.

He received his Bachelor of Law degree and Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado in 1964. Returning to Nevada, he served as a clerk for the Nevada Supreme Court in Carson City for a year before returning to Reno to begin his own private practice, where he devoted his legal career.

Beyond the law, Roger cultivated wide-ranging interests. He possessed extensive knowledge of equine genetics and the scientific breeding of Thoroughbred and Arabian horses, and poetry remained an ongoing passion throughout his life.
