Ronald W. Messerly

Ronald Wayne Messerly was a partner in the Phoenix office of Snell & Wilmer, a regional law firm with offices across the Southwest, including Nevada. Over his career he built a successful practice concentrated on construction and design law, insurance law, government contracting, and complex real estate development transactions - fields that regularly spanned the states served by his firm.

He earned wide recognition among his peers. In 2005 he was named State Bar of Arizona "Member of the Year," honoring an attorney for extraordinary contributions to the programs and activities of the state bar. He was named among the "Best of Arizona Attorneys" in construction law by the Business Journal in 2009, recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for construction law and construction litigation in 2010 and 2011, and named a Southwest Super Lawyer for construction litigation in 2011.

Born February 10, 1965, in Salt Lake City, Utah, he grew up in the small community of Newcastle in southern Utah before pursuing his legal career. A devoted family man, he was survived by his wife, Marcie, and their two children, Benjamin and Alexis. He died on December 29, 2011, in Phoenix, Arizona.
