Ruth Taber Ripsom

Ruth Taber Ripsom, RN, JD, of Reno, Nevada, built a career that bridged the professions of nursing and law. A registered nurse, she was recognized for her service to Nevada's nursing community, including her appointment to the Nevada State Board of Nursing, on which she served from 1982 to 1983.

She went on to earn a Juris Doctor and was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada on December 8, 1987. Her combined training as a registered nurse and an attorney positioned her to work at the intersection of health care and the law, drawing on both disciplines throughout her professional life.

Ruth Taber Ripsom died on August 27, 2015, in Reno, Nevada, at the age of 77. She is remembered for a lifetime of service across two demanding professions.
