Samuel S. Martinez

Samuel Spencer Martinez was a Nevada attorney who devoted his career to public service as a prosecutor in Las Vegas. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 18, 1976, he pursued his legal education at Valparaiso University School of Law in Indiana, completing the three-year program before building his professional life in the practice of criminal law.

Admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 2007, Sam rose to become a Chief Deputy District Attorney in Las Vegas. He devoted his professional life to using the law to help people find some measure of peace after heartbreaking circumstances, focusing his work on victim advocacy within the criminal justice system. Colleagues remembered his rare ability to connect with victims in a way no one else could.

Sam was greatly loved by all who had the pleasure of working with him. He passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 1, 2021, at the age of 44, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication to justice.
