Scott H Waite

Scott Haydn Waite was born April 30, 1965, in St. George, Utah, and grew up in Logandale, Nevada, where he graduated from Moapa Valley High School as class salutatorian. He went on to graduate from Brigham Young University and later earned his law degree from the Mississippi College School of Law.

After law school, Scott moved his young family back to Southern Nevada to pursue his career in law. He served as a deputy district attorney for Lincoln County, where he developed a deep affection for the community and its people. In 1996, he returned to the Moapa Valley and joined the Clark County public defender's office.

For the last 11 years of his career, Scott worked as a deputy public defender for Clark County, remembered by those who worked and served alongside him as a passionate and steadfast advocate, fiercely loyal to the principles of freedom and justice. He died July 14, 2007, in Las Vegas at the age of 42.
