Scott K. Canepa

Scott Krusee Canepa was a fourth-generation Italian Nevadan, born in Reno on March 13, 1964. He graduated from Sparks High School in 1982 and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1989, working as a licensed real estate agent while attending college. He went on to receive his law degree with honors in 1991 from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California.

After practicing law in San Diego, Scott moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he built his law partnerships and career around representing plaintiff consumers. He was a pioneer in the fight for consumer rights in Nevada and participated in the creation of Nevada's first construction defect statute, spending countless hours both in the courtroom and at the legislature advocating for the causes he believed in.

Scott received numerous professional accolades over the course of his legal career, including being named 2003 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association - the youngest attorney ever to receive the Association's most prestigious award. His contributions to the community were recognized by the City of Las Vegas, which proclaimed March 13, 2004 to be Scott Canepa Day. Known for his generous and fun-loving nature and a commanding presence, he passed away of natural causes on December 30, 2020, at the age of 56.
