Sean T Higgins

Sean Timothy Higgins was a Las Vegas attorney whose career was devoted to Nevada's gaming industry. A graduate of Bishop Gorman High School, he earned a business administration degree from Southern Methodist University and received his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1990, the same year he was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada.

Mr. Higgins spent much of his career as general counsel and head of governmental affairs for Herbst Gaming, a role he held for some 17 years. He later joined the Las Vegas law firm Gordon Silver as a partner from 2010 to 2015, served as managing principal of Porter Gordon Silver Communications, and founded the consulting practice STH Strategies in 2015. In his final years he was executive vice president of government affairs for Golden Entertainment, where colleagues credited him with a significant impact on the company's success.

Widely regarded as a leading gaming attorney and lobbyist, Mr. Higgins represented clients before Nevada gaming regulators and government bodies at the state and local levels. He was remembered by peers and public officials for his direct manner and his standing within the state's legal, gaming, and political circles. He died in September 2020 at the age of 56.
