Stephen L. Huffaker

Stephen Lynn Huffaker was born on January 28, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City in 1952 and from Utah State University in 1956. Following college, he served his country as an officer in the United States Air Force for ten years. He went on to earn his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, graduating in 1974, and was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada that same year.

Mr. Huffaker began his legal career as a public defender in Las Vegas. In 1980, he was appointed as a judge to the Eighth Judicial District Court of Clark County, Nevada. He served on that bench for 22 years, retiring in 2002 after a long and distinguished judicial career.

A resident of the Las Vegas area for 48 years, Stephen L. Huffaker passed away on April 2, 2022, at the age of 88. He is remembered for his decades of public service to the courts and community of southern Nevada.
