Steve B. Lane

Steve B. Lane was born in Dodge City, Kansas, and was raised and completed high school in Cimarron, Kansas. He attended the University of Nevada, Reno, and later entered the military, serving in Korea. Following his discharge, he attended the University of Kansas and graduated from its law school.

In 1969, Mr. Lane became a deputy in the civil division of the District Attorney's office in Reno. He went on to become a partner in the Hale Lane Peek Dennison & Howard law firm, which grew to become one of the largest in the state. In 1988, he moved to Las Vegas, where he started the southern branch of Hale Lane.

In 2008, the firm merged with Holland & Hart, and Mr. Lane continued to serve as a consultant. Remembered by colleagues as a compassionate and caring man and an excellent attorney, he contributed much to his community, his law firm, and his friends over a career spanning nearly four decades. He died on December 9, 2012, at the age of 73 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
