Thomas Frederick Twesme was born April 6, 1950, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, to Judge Albert L. Twesme and Dorothy (Andersen) Twesme, and was raised in Galesville, Wisconsin. He followed his father and grandfather into the legal profession, graduating from Gale-Ettrick High School in 1968, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1973, and Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1983.
After completing law school, Thomas relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he built his legal career. In 1993 he joined Boyd Gaming, rising to serve as executive vice president and assistant general counsel in the company's legal department. Across his years of practice he was known as a dedicated corporate counsel and a steady presence in the Las Vegas legal community.
Beyond his professional life, Thomas was active in his community, serving as congregational president at Christ Lutheran Church. Remembered as a traditionalist with a deep appreciation for home and family, he maintained a lifelong loyalty to his Wisconsin roots. He passed away in Las Vegas on August 4, 2017.
