Timothy Edward Rowe

Timothy Edward Rowe earned his B.A. with distinction from the University of Nevada in 1975 and his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 1978. Admitted to the State Bar of Nevada, he built a distinguished career in the state's legal community, first maintaining a substantial practice in construction law and litigation before his firm merged with McDonald Carano in 1987.

As a longtime partner in McDonald Carano's Reno office, Tim was a pillar of the firm for more than 30 years. He represented a wide range of clients, from large gaming establishments to small businesses, and focused his practice on employment and labor law, construction law, commercial and complex litigation, and gaming and administrative law. With over thirty years of experience representing employers, he handled all aspects of employment litigation - including matters before the Nevada Equal Rights Commission, the EEOC, OSHA, and the NLRB - and argued a number of workers' compensation cases before the Nevada Supreme Court. He frequently assisted the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors and litigated in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels.

Rowe's work earned wide recognition, including being named The Best Lawyers in America 2017 'Lawyer of the Year' for Labor Law - Management, listing in Best Lawyers for Workers' Compensation Law - Employers, and a Martindale-Hubbell AV Peer Review Rating. He served the profession and his community as past chairman of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the State Bar of Nevada, as a member of Washoe County School District committees, and as Chief Volunteer Officer on the Board of Directors of The Y. Universally respected and known as a generous mentor and kind-hearted colleague, Tim passed away on November 20, 2021.
