VeNoy Christoffersen
VeNoy Christoffersen graduated from the University of Utah College of Law in 1952 and began his legal career in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada on October 5, 1953. During his years in Nevada, he practiced with a Las Vegas law firm and served the public as a deputy district attorney and as an assistant attorney general for the State of Nevada.
He later returned to Utah, where he devoted the remainder of his career to the bench. He served eight years as a Brigham City Court judge before being appointed to the First District Court in 1969 by Governor Calvin Rampton. Over a judicial career spanning 27 years, he became a respected figure in Utah's legal community, contributing his experience to the Utah Judicial Council, the Advisory Committee on Utah Rules of Practice and Procedure, and the Utah State Bar Legislative Committee.
In 1987, the Utah State Bar recognized his service by naming him District Court Judge of the Year, and he stepped down from the bench at the end of 1988 after nearly three decades of service. VeNoy Christoffersen died on February 5, 1997, at the age of 74, in Brigham City, Utah.
