Vincent A. Consul

Vincent Anthony Consul, of Las Vegas, was a prominent and widely respected Nevada attorney who devoted his career to public service and the legal profession. He earned a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1975 and his J.D. from the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, in 1980. He began his legal career as a law clerk and, in 1980, became a deputy district attorney in the Clark County District Attorney's Office, where he served until 1983. From 1983 to 1984, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Nevada.

In 1984, Vince joined the law firm Beckley, Singleton, DeLanoy and List, and he later became a name partner at Dickerson, Dickerson, Lieberman and Consul. In 2005, he became a partner in the nationally renowned firm of Boies, Schiller and Flexner. Over three decades of practice in Las Vegas, he earned a reputation as a consummate professional and a mentor to younger lawyers, recognized by the Italian American Lawyers Association with its Justinian Award for his contributions to the legal profession.

Vince gave generously of his time to the organized bar and the community. He served on the board of the Eighth Judicial District Pro Bono Foundation from 1997 to 2005, and in 1997 he was elected to the first of four terms on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Nevada. He served as President of the State Bar of Nevada from 2005 to 2006. In 2008, he joined the board of the Nevada Law Foundation, the organization that distributes IOLTA funds to legal service providers throughout Nevada.
