William Bruce Beckley

William Bruce Beckley was a native Las Vegan and a member of one of southern Nevada's pioneer families, born in Las Vegas on April 22, 1915, to William "Will" Ulrich Beckley and Leva Grimes Beckley. He grew up in the young desert community, was active in Scouting as a boy, and maintained lifelong ties to the Methodist Church. He was admitted to the Nevada bar on December 31, 1954, and went on to build a distinguished career practicing law in Las Vegas.

Beckley became a prominent attorney and founded the firm of Beckley, DeLanoy & Jemison. The practice he helped establish grew and evolved over the following decades, expanding its partnership and continuing as one of the recognized law firms in the Las Vegas legal community.

Beyond his legal practice, Beckley remained closely connected to the history of his hometown. Together with his sister Virginia, he preserved a piece of that heritage by donating the Beckley family home to the Historic Las Vegas Homes exhibit at the Clark County Heritage Museum, ensuring that a part of early Las Vegas life would endure for future generations. He died in Las Vegas on October 5, 1986, at the age of 71.
